Holiday Gifts for Lazy Cats

December 15 2017

Have you finished your shopping yet for the year? Don’t forget about your kitty! Fluffy isn’t hard to shop for, but it is important to keep your pet’s purrsonality in mind when picking out her gifts. For instance, toys make wonderful gifts for kittens, but what about older, less active kitties? A local Grayson, GA vet suggests some great gifts for lazy cats in this article.

It’s probably no surprise what the purrfect gift for unmotivated kitties is: beds. Fluffy can spend up to 20 hours a day sleeping, and is always looking for comfy new napping spots.

Pet Stairs

Is your feline friend too lazy to jump onto the couch or bed? Get her some pet ramps or stairs to help her out. This is also a great gift for senior cats!

Cat Grass Mat

You can plant a living mat of cat grass for your kitty to lounge around on. Just remember to get it started a few weeks before the holiday. (Tip: this is a great way to upcycle an old litter box.)

Window Seat

Even if Fluffy couldn’t be bothered to catch a bird if it landed right in front of her, she’ll still enjoy watching them. Get your furry buddy a comfy window seat to look adorable in.

Cat Scratcher

If you aren’t sure what a cat scratcher is, it basically looks like a giant pipe cleaner attached to a board. When Fluffy rubs up, it will scratch her itchy spots, and will also help remove dead fur and dander from her coat.

Did you know that you can order DVDs made just for kitties? Some cats love watching programs about birds or squirrels. This is a great gift for lazy cats!

While some kitties are rather finicky, others really love treats. Get your cat a special snack to enjoy. Store-bought treats are fine, but you can also give your furball homemade snacks. Look online for recipes. Just be sure to only use pet-safe ingredients.

While your cat may not be as playful as other kitties, she’ll still have at least the occasional moment of friskiness. Make sure to put a few kitty toys in Fluffy’s stocking this year, and take time to play with her regularly.

Happy Holidays! Please feel free to contact us, your Grayson, GA pet hospital, anytime. We are here to help!
